    Ford Ranger

The Ford Ranger is a mid-size ute and a cornerstone of Ford’s Australian lineup, offered in work-ready cab-chassis and pickup body styles as well as more lifestyle-focused dual-cab grades. It has been Australia’s top-selling vehicle for the past three years, reflecting its broad appeal to tradies, fleets, touring families and weekend adventurers. The range is best known for its diesel capability, strong towing focus and locally relevant chassis tuning, while the high-performance Ranger Raptor gives the lineup a serious off-road flagship. For 2027, the Ranger range gains further lineup changes, including wider availability of the single-turbo four-cylinder diesel engine and the return of the Wildtrak X special edition, giving buyers more choice between value, capability and adventure-focused equipment.

    CarExpert Rating
    Very Good
The Ranger is popular for good reason: it's comfortable, practical, and capable. If you're comfortable with the occasional recall and prepared to spend the money to buy one, you could do a lot worse than a Wildtrak V6.
