Order books are open for the updated Renault Megane E-Tech small electric SUV, due in Australian showrooms in the first half of 2027 with refreshed styling, a new battery, and new tech.

The facelifted Megane E-Tech is priced from $55,990 before on-road costs, or $1000 more than its list price since 2024. Despite this modest increase in price, the Megane E-Tech has received a glut of new equipment.
Customers who place a $200 online deposit by December 31, 2026, and subsequently purchase and take delivery of the vehicle, will receive a 7kW home charging adaptor valued at $749 (excluding installation). This deal isn't available for government and fleet buyers.
A single Esprit Alpine variant replaces the old Techno, with the facelifted Megane E-Tech boasting new LED front fog lights, new tail-lights, new 20-inch alloy wheels, and a new front bumper, giving it a look more closely aligned with the newer Scenic E-Tech under which it sits.
The Megane E-Tech has been upgraded from a 60kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery to a 67kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) unit, with the DC fast-charge rate upped from 130kW to 165kW and the AC charge rate increased from 7.4kW to 11kW. WLTP range has been increased from 454km to 480km.

There's also now vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality, allowing you to use the vehicle to power small electrical appliances, while a one-pedal drive mode brings stronger regenerative braking which can bring the vehicle to a complete stop.
These form part of a bevy of new tech features arriving with the update, including the introduction of a surround-view camera, semi-autonomous parking assist, safe exit warning, and Active Driver Assist, which combines adaptive cruise control with stop/go and lane-centring.
There's also Emergency Stop Assist, which automatically slows and stops the vehicle if it detects the driver is unresponsive or asleep.

Inside, there's a larger 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system – up from 9.0 inches – which now features Google Automotive Services, with embedded Google apps such as the Gemini AI assistant.
The upgraded system can also help forecast driving range and plan your route, taking into account where charging stations are.
The Megane E-Tech also features over-the-air software update capability.
A new Face ID function can recognise your face and adjust the driver's seat and exterior mirror positioning accordingly.

“Earlier this year we announced Renault Australia was in the middle of revitalising its model line-up and the new Renault Megane E-Tech Esprit Alpine is a part of that,” said Renault Australia general manager Glen Sealey in a press release.
“We know Australia is one of the most competitive new-car markets in the world, but we also know there are discerning buyers who appreciate a car with distinctive design, excellent road-holding, intuitive cabin controls, well-calibrated advanced safety systems, and generous electric driving range for its class.
“We are opening the order books early so we can allocate cars fairly across the dealer network to minimise waiting times and get people into their cars sooner.”
