An electric Mercedes-Benz C-Class is just months away from Australian showrooms.
The 2027 Mercedes-Benz C-Class electric will arrive in Australian showrooms early in 2027, in a single variant priced almost exactly halfway between 40 xDrive and 50 xDrive variants of the rival BMW i3, also due to arrive Down Under early in the new year.
The C400 4Matic electric is priced at $105,700 before on-road costs, compared to list prices of $96,900 and $112,900 plus on-roads for the i3 40 xDrive and 50 xDrive.

It features a 94kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery providing 753km of WLTP range, and a dual-motor all-wheel drive powertrain producing 360kW of power and 800Nm of torque, rocketing the C400 to 100km/h from standstill in a claimed 4.0 seconds.
That means in the range battle, the C400 also slots in between the i3 40 xDrive (566-710km WLTP) and 50 xDrive (912km). The rival Bimmers use 82.8kWh and 108.7kWh batteries, respectively.
The C400 does have the BMWs beat in power and torque, with the 275kW/520Nm i3 40 xDrive and 345kW/645Nm i3 50 xDrive having claimed 0-100km/h times of 5.4 and 4.7 seconds, respectively.
